Climate can be summarized into two main factors: Temperature and precipitation. What time of year is warm, what time of year is cold, and when/how much does it rain, snow, sleet, or hail, make up the climate of any biome on earth! Climate can be further divided into macroclimate and microclimate. Your macroclimate is the general trends of the climate you reside in. Things like how much is it going to rain in January, or how hot is it going to be in August are informed by macroclimate. Microclimate considers factors that are unique to small areas like a front or back yard. Parts of the yard that are shaded due to surrounding houses or hedges, or an overhanging roof preventing a patch of soil from receiving rain would be examples of elements forming the microclimate of a space.
